Prior to 2013, the Forum reported to the Local Government and Planning Minister’s Council and the Planning Officials Group.
At its meeting on 13 December 2013, COAG agreed to streamline the COAG Council system.
There are now eight COAG Councils:
- Federal Financial Relations Council;
- Disability Reform Council;
- Transport and Infrastructure Council;
- Energy Council;
- Industry and Skills Council;
- Law, Crime and Community Safety Council;
- Education Council; and
- Health Council
Planning and development assessment matters currently fall within the scope of the Standing Council on Transport and Infrastructure (SCOTI), which is supported by the Transport and Infrastructure Senior Official Committee (TISOC).
