Work Program
The DAF work program and projects will continue to implement the goal of development assessment reform across Australia, as outlined in the DAF Leading Practice Model for Development Assessment. The main components of the current work program are:
A guideline to assist local governments and referral agencies to draft their development assessment requirements.
Creating guidelines to promote the adoption of the development assessment ‘tracks’ in the Leading Practice Model.
Providing each State and Territory with indications of the best practice options available to them and the degree to which existing practices and procedures complement the Leading Practice Model.
eDA – Electronic Development Assessment
Establishing a national communication protocol to enable national interoperability for electronic processing of planning and development applications.
In 2013, the Forum has developed a national glossary of planning terminology which provides a ready reckoner across Australia to allow comparison between each state and territory and ensure a consistent approach can be taken.
